It’s the holiday season! Can you believe it? (I can’t.) The holidays seemed to have snuck up on me this year. Everyone else at SmartKnitKIDS has been counting down to the holiday season and anxiously waiting to reveal our First Annual Holiday Contest with a prize package worth over $400! It’s a holiday extravaganza! The giveaway includes all sorts of cool stuff for Moms and Kiddos! I’m so very proud to have my name attached to such a cool contest.

One Grand Prize Winner Will Receive:

3 Pair SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks
Wii Fit
Holiday Scrapbook Kit
HoMedics Massaging Cushion
Kids Holiday Cookbooks and Apron
Sponge Bob Eyeball Speakers
Holiday DVD Set
Kidorable Knit Set
Walkie Talkies

Enter Now to Win! Contestants can enter up to 4 Times!

We’ve also started a naughty list for all those icky parts of the sock: seams, lumps, bumps, and wrinkles. As part of our Holiday Contest, we are asking you to please help us expand our naughty list. What does your little one call those annoying lumps and bumps in their socks? Let us know and we’ll be sure to add it to our naughty list.

This is a super-fantastic giveaway that I wish I could enter, unfortunately it's closed to Ants :(. For complete contest rules and eligibility, please visit www.smartknitkids.com/holiday.

Good Luck to Everyone Who Enters!

KC Walk Now For Autism

What a great event! We had a booth at the KC Autism walk this past Saturday to help Sock it to Autism! So many people were there for such a great cause. It was wonderful! The weather didn’t exactly cooperate, temperature was in the 30’s. I almost froze my antennae off! Even though it was a bit chilly, there was still a great turn out. We got to share our SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks and pass out all sorts of goodies to kids and parents. We had a super time. I want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth to check out our socks. I hope everyone loves the samples they got! Thanks again to everyone!

It's Almost Back to School Time!

I can hardly believe that its almost time to go back to school! The summer has truly flown by. For all the boys and girls getting ready to start classes, good luck! I hope you have a wonderful school year. For all the parents, summer is over and I’m sure this brings a bag of mixed feelings for some. I wish everyone a great, fun, safe, bug free school year!

What Bugs Me

Since I’m a bug, everyone always asks me, “What bugs you?” The obvious is sock seams, but I’m a deeper bug than that. Itchy sweaters bother me, mean people, and most of all cauliflower. No matter how many times I try it, I hate it. (No offense to all the cauliflower lovers out there). Itchy sweaters are also the worst. I have sensory issues so sweaters that feel like I am in a ball of scratchy wool are not my favorite. Mean people are also not at the top of my list. I think everyone needs to be treated with respect regardless of any condition. That’s what bugs me. It might not be what you expected, but my mom raised me to be an honest bug.

AOTA

Since our blog is so new and I didn’t have a chance to share our experience at AOTA last April, I wanted to do so now. AOTA stands for American Occupational Therapy Association. They have a conference every year and we attended this year. It was very cool. I got to meet and mingle with all the wonderful OT’s. (I was the life of the party) Werecieved some great feedback too. They particularly liked the seamless toe and lack of a heel. The seamless toe doesn’t bother kids with sensory issues and a sock without a heel is easy for any child to slip on. I just love hearing about how SmartKnitKIDS help. It makes me proud to be their front bug.

Above is me in our AOTA booth. I was looking particularly handsome that day. It really was great having the chance to talk to everyone and be at AOTA.

If you’re an OT and would like information about SmartKnitKIDS for your patients, please contact me! I’ll be happy to send a professional resource kit out to you. Please visit us at http://www.smartknitkids.com/professional_resources.html to request a kit today!

1st Post Ever!

Before I begin to utterly and completely delve into the blog world, I want to introduce myself. I am green, I’m 4 feet tall, I weigh 75 pounds and I live in a mound of dirt. Now, I know that may sound strange and a little weird to some, but that’s who I am. I am an ant named Bugsley.

I am a protector, a guardian and a hero if I do say so myself. (I like to think I’m a hero anyway) I protect toes from icky seams and I guard feet from lumps and bumps. I like to think that I’m making people lives easier. I sound like I have a complex….but I do wish I could wear a cape.

My hobbies include knitting, digging, stealing food, smiling and dancing. I love to knit, especially socks. You’ll always see me with a pair of socks on my feet; my tootsies get cold. I also love to dance in my socks. It goes without saying that all my socks are seamless. I hate seams just as much as the next guy or ant.

My professional life is hectic. I am the face of SmartKnitKIDS. I must make sure all the socks going out with my picture on them really don’t have a seam and won’t cause lumps or bumps. (It’s my reputation, right?) That means I spend my hours between photo shoots and celebrity guest appearances inspecting socks. I guarantee that no sock leaves our headquarters uninspected. I don’t sleep much, but we ants don’t need much rest.

That’s me in a nutshell and there will be much more to come! Socks, sensitivities, autism, life, being and ant, and all the other exciting things that happen in my daily life! I look forward to wiggling my antennae with you and sharing lots of laughs and information!
